About Us

The Family Office Council is a membership group for Single Family Offices with leadership and agenda set by Single Family Offices. Members of the Council are Principals and Single Family Office Executives.

The purpose of the Family Office Council is:

  • To create a community for Family Office Executives to meet their needs
  • To improve the services provided to Family Offices and UHNW individuals internationally by exchanging best practice
  • To provide a forum for the communication of best practice between Family Offices
  • To improve public understanding of Family Offices and create a better environment for Family Offices

The Board of Members is chaired by Family Office CFO Simon Foster.

Simon Foster

Simon Foster

Simon Foster joined the TY Danjuma Family Office as CFO in 2011. Simon qualified as an accountant with Ernst & Young and has 19 years of post-qualification experience in international investment environments.

Simon is an experienced Family Office CFO and has in excess of 16 years’ experience acting in Director, Company Secretary and CFO capacities for diverse international family offices, investment vehicles and their portfolio companies from bases in the UK and Bermuda. He has twice been the architect for the initial creation of family office / private investment structures. Most recently he acted as interim Group Finance Director for Technis International PLC, a quoted technology and intellectual property consolidator. He has extensive knowledge of budgeting, strategic planning and performance reporting including GAAP & Regulatory. Recent reporting experience includes public markets, FSA, BMA, US GAAP, UK GAAP and IFRS.

Matthew Norman, Deputy Chairman

Matthew Norman

Matthew works for several UK based resident non-domiciled principals. Matthew previously spent eight years with a London based Brazilian single family office as head of investments. This role included reporting on all of the family’s assets (both internally and externally managed), the discretionary management of a Cayman Island investment vehicle, as well as the beauty parading of numerous banking, legal and business consultancy firms.

Matthew’s family office experience includes investment research, monitoring and management.  Matthew has built up a global network of family office executives and family members, while he regularly speaks at family office conferences and is often consulted by families on both philanthropic and next generation issues.

Andrew Morris-Wyatt

Andrew Morris-Wyatt is the CEO of Marle Hill LLP, a family office managing and administering financial and non-financial affairs and connected matters for an ultra-high net worth family.  He is a former Managing Director of HSBC Private Bank, where he was head of the UK High Net Worth relationship team.

Mohammed Nadar

Mohamed Nadar is currently CEO of HALJ, with oversight of a multifunctional office based in Jedddah, Saudi Arabia, responsible for general investment activities, with a focus on real estate development, asset and property management. In addition the office is responsible for day-to-day family logistical needs.

Prior to joining HALJ, he held several positions as contract and procurement manager as an officer in the US Air Force, and as a procurement consultant with Arthur Andersen’s Emerging Markets group.

Mr. Nadar holds a BA in Economics from the University of Nebraska and an MS in Business Management from Troy State University.

Binoy R. V. Meghraj

Binoy is the Executive Vice Chairman of Meghraj Group, an international investment banking, fiduciary services and infrastructure consulting organisation with offices in Asia, Africa and Europe. He heads the Group’s investment banking business, and is responsible for the Group’s strategy and new business initiatives. He works closely with families and businesses from Japan, India, East Africa, the UK and the UAE.

Binoy is the Head of Investments for his family’s family office, and a Trustee of his family’s two charitable foundations.

He is based between Dubai and Tokyo. He has an Honours Degree in Commerce and Accounting from the University of Birmingham, and an MBA with distinction from London Business School.

Nainish Bapna

Nainish Bapna has been at a London-based SFO since 2012, where he is involved in investing across multiple asset classes/stages and portfolio management. This wide remit suits his career experience – equity research analyst, entrepreneur in media, software and renewable energy companies (gasification and anaerobic digestion) and partner in an India-based technology transfer fund.

Nainish uses his background in MEng Computer Science to provide him with the platform to adapt and add value to new situations rapidly.

Management

The day-to-day management of the Council rests with the Chief Executive and the executive team.

Keith A Johnston, Chief Executive of the Family Office Council

Keith worked as Director of Communications at the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) from 2002, where he was editor of the STEP Journal and Editor-in-Chief of STEP’s publications.

Keith has been active in community management, communications and public policy in the wealth sector for the past ten years, and was intimately involved in campaigns over the taxation of UK non doms and defending the reputation of the wealth sector internationally.

He started in 1997 as a lobbyist at a public affairs consultancy and is a graduate of the University of Glasgow, where he read history.

Keith is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and a fellow of the Public Relations Consultancy Association (PRCA) and enjoys opera and bridge.
